Put a tab under the gas pedal, or is that purposefully omitted after the Toyota self acceleration debacle? Zero coverage there and my carpet is getting all nasty with the OEM floor liners.

Hopefully these are more robust than a set of 3D Maxpider I had for my 2nd gen Tacoma, which look eerily similar:



Mine did not have the reinforced area where the driver's heel goes, and they wore through the upper surface layer fairly quickly. They looked great when new.

 

Looks good, but can I put in my .02? Maybe make the two side wider; extend the door sill area a bit further out, on the opposite side bring it up higher along the carpet then slightly longer so it tucks underneath the seat more?

Yes, it was designed for the safety aspect with the specific accelerator pedal. Although it does not go underneath the gas pedal the coverage is pretty good and all debris will slide down the ramped surface. Maybe our 3 testers can share their opinion on this once installed.

Initial thoughts are impressive. They are quality. Fitment is perfect. Nice thick material and very cool design. I like the caps that cover the mat hold downs. They are a lot nicer than current OEM pro mats. I don't foresee them wearing out with the thickness. The cleats that attach to carpet grip like Velcro. I love the look also. They seem deep enough for what I do. I don't mind them not coming over the sill because the weathertechs in my tacomas end up warped and wrinkled anyway. Will daily drive with an update after awhile.

 

Do they come with those plugs over the retention clip holes? One of my pet peeves with my mats is water getting through the retention clip holes.
