Okay, 2024 Limited. I want to wire up a Wolfbox G900 rearview mirror and dash cam. I've watched a few videos at this point so I know the system comes with a BATT cable and an ACC cable for 24-hour recording. I'm aware of how to test to see which fuses are hot or not with the vehicle on/off, but my question is which fuse should I tap into?

I know I can utilize an add-a-fuse and logic says pick a non-vital fuse, but is there a better one or one that is not used? For example, the 1st column, 7th row, is a 10A KDSS fuse. I don't have KDSS, but is this fuse relevant to another system? Or, 1st column, 12th row, I have an empty spot, should I just utilize that, considering if it's off the battery or accessory? So long as my power draw is less than the amps the fuse can support, I should have no issues, right? Also, does removing a fuse and adding it back cause any issues, computer wise?

Furthermore, If I am unable to replace the fuse panel cover due to new wiring, is there any issue?

Im just starting my wiring journey on the 4runner, so I'll watch this thread too and wait for the experts...

If you want to use your fuse box cover with an add a circuit...

I bought one of these extended fuse covers from Etsy, $30
and has a handy place to keep extra fuses

I read here somewhere that it matters which side the wire comes off of. I think it’s opposite of the hot side. Otherwise the added fuse is bypassed?

I'm wondering about this to. Need to tap into a fuse location under the dash. Hoping some non essential fuse is keyed power. Interested to hear if anyone knows what the best option is.

I would check to make sure that these are only powered when the ignition is in the ACC or On position and use on of those. Easy to diagnose, if a fuse is blown.
