So was greasing up the driveline. The front shaft has always had a dry slip yoke, so the las couple of times I pumped it up a good amount. Still no evidence of lube all the way through, judging from the bone dry shaft near the swiper seal.

Today I went to town on it and pumped it until I saw the slipyoke expand a bit, with the intention of taking the zerk off for a short drive to compress any excess out. Well, after I pumped, it started oozing out of the zerk itself, in the center (not around the threads. It oozed enough for me to not bother removing the zerk to “depressurize” the yoke. Cleaned it up, then had some errands to do, and just checked and found this

Should I replace the zerk, or do I just clean it out?

edit, the slide shaft still looks bone dry lol

For the cost, i would say swap it out. I have had multiple issues on inexpensive zerks on some of our farm equipment.

I suppose zerks are sold by the dozen because they need replacing now and then.
