I have an 02 4x4 with an A340F that has shredded something internally. Pan was full of chunks of metal. Where I'm at finding a used trans for this truck without a ton of miles is proving to be difficult. My question is the 1st gen Sequoia also uses an A340F, but the bellhousing is different. Would anyone know if it's possible to swap the bellhousing and install it in the 4Runner? Sequoia trans near me are cheap for low mileage units. I've been searching for any info or a write up of some kind, but have come up with nothing. Thanks!

I just swapped my 01 trans a week ago. Went with a 110k mile salvage from a rolled 4Runner w/90 day warranty $600. As far as I understand, The 01&02 have only the a340e trans. Don’t get 340f. The bell housing does unbolt but I don’t know about the interchange.
