So I’m stumped and can’t find any info online about it. I’ve got an 01 sr5 that had a bad tranny I found one for a stupid good deal but it’s out of an earlier year 3rd gen I know only years 01-02 will be exact replacement but I bought it anyway because I was told that the shift linkage is the only difference and could be modified to work? Now that im looking at the new trans it seems to have a kickdown cable and the bad one does not? What can be done about this if anything? Swap valve bodies? Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Please change your title to be more descriptive.

Maybe post pictures? of the difference?

What transmission model do you have now (the 2001 transmission)? Check your door sticker.

What transmission model and revision and year is the new (older) one?

How do you know it (the older one) is from a 4Runner?

Thank you for the info! I dug a little deeper into some other forums last night and they all say that it’s pretty much a huge pain in the ass. I’m going to call the guy back today and see if I can’t get my money back. Thanks again
