So, I’m in the middle of a 5vz swap. In I noticed that my transfer case cooler is in a place where it’s gotten super dirty and basically dead. I’m thinking of getting a new transmission cooler to stick up front, and taking the stock cooling lines that lead to the built in cooler on the radiator to be my new transfer case cooler. Anyone think that would be wise ?

You generally want to keep your factory trans cooler line into the radiator, and tap the outgoing line to add the auxiliary trans cooler. In other words, you want to add cooling capacity downstream of the radiator, not bypass the radiator. It doesn't help you with how to address your transfer case cooler, but it will be much better for your transmission in the long run.
