Finished installing the Kicker 8 speaker bundle from Trail Grid Pro. I paid $407 total for the speaker kit which was cheaper than going through Crutchfield or Amazon. Also put in Amazon's version of Dynamat (CLD) while I had the doors apart($63 for 36sq/ft). Used about 22 out of the 34 total pieces in the box.

I'm not an audiophile but the speakers definitely sound better than stock when it comes to clarity and quality of sound. Bass is better but if you like to thump you will still need an amp and sub. If you truly want to get the most out of these speakers you will need to replace the head unit as well. For me it is good enough for the moment.

I didn't really notice much in the way of reduced road noise with the CLD, but it's main purpose is to reduce resonance/vibration of the outer door skin and not sound deaden. Doors have a more luxury feel when opening and closing now as it is more of a dull thud instead of a hollow metal sound.

This is the setup that I have. 4 weeks after having them installed, I had an amp added to it. Now the speakers are SUPER loud and really thump. My back window shakes when I crank up the bass - I didn't change the head unit and I'm glad I didn't. I never thought about adding the dynamat though. I bet it would sound even better (plus make the cabin more quiet).

Gotta admit; hearing that "shoomp" sound when closing a door is nice to hear instead of the "Thunk" when I close the door on my SloRunner.

Where did you find these for $407?
They're currently priced at $577 from trail grid pro

Welcome! I'm no audio expert either. I bought the TGP kit too, then bought an amp and accessories to have it sound as awesome as possible. I paid someone to install it for me. All in (materials + labor) I've spent about $1700.

Two things I wish I would have done:

    1) Put a "Gain" knob on my dash.
    2) Installed a dedicated sub. The Kickers hit pretty hard, but I know with a sub it can sound even better.

I'm keeping my eyes open for black friday pricing. It's a toss up between the kicker key 200.4, and the amp you mentioned. I'll get the speakers professionally installed as well, I'm not good at wiring up speakers
