    2013 4Runner.
    The CHECK ENGINE and TRAC OFF indicators are both lit. My ODB gives P2440.
    The vehicle doesn't want to accelerate past 60.
    Any suggestions on what might be the issue?

    I saw in another forum where they cleared the error.
    Hoping it was a false positive reading, I cleared the error.
    The vehicle has been fine all day.
    Did clearing the error actually "fix" the issue?
    I can't wrap my head around it.

    Or is it more like I told the computer that everything is ok, but the actual issue still exists?

    If the problem still exists it will light the CEL again when it complete it's cycle. If not it could have just been an intermediate error that fixed itself.

    CEL check engine light and not sure how long the cycle lasts. Just watch for the CEL.

    The air pump and valves complete a cycle within a minute of starting the engine. It cycles again when the engine is shut off. If you listen carefully you can hear the pump start and then shut off during the cycle.

    After multiple starts, the CEL hasn't returned.
    Is that a sign that it may have been a "glitch"?

    Can also google obd drive cycle (Toyota) as several parameters have to be met.

    Depends on the type of inspection. Here in CA, it wouldn't pass a smog inspection but it may pass a simple safety inspection performed in other states.

    We were planning on taking the vehicle this weekend to see my daughter(260 mile round trip). Can I just clear the code and deal with it later, or would it be better to take another vehicle? I don't know the seriousness of this issue.
    The specific error is:
    P2440 - Air system switching valve stuck open bank 1
