Go figure … I had GM vehicles brand new moldings and clips falling off the trucks … GM just lost there parts supply vendor , no one knows the reason .
Everyone with GM vehicles has problems , I had a buddy with a lease 1500 and was back at the dealer over 20 times during the 3 yrs lease … Thats just crazy .
I just traded in my last GM truck and made money thank god , my local Toyota dealer has a GMC dealer and were after and truck I owned and was fine , I used the truck for 3 yrs and got 12k more than I paid for it .
I’m lucky to have a Toyota dealer that does not mark up the MSRP like other scumbag dealers tacking insane markups .

My Daughter bought a new 2011 Chevy Avalanch that was fully optioned from the factory. It had a 50K MSRP - then !! Since the 2012's were out she got a 11K discount. The V-8 engine had to have new lifters and camshaft replaced. Fortunately, under warrenty. Two door lock mechanisms had to be replaced. And a host of other small stuff. You never hear of this with a Toyota.

GM practically invented the MSRP jack-up tied to huge rebates and incentives to give the illusion the customer was getting a great deal. brand new trucks going for $7-10k off sticker. and they were riddled with cheap plastic and frames that rust after a few years.

my buddies 6.2L Sierra spent about 2-3 months at the shop waiting for new lifters. he just got it back a few weeks ago. its not an older truck either.

From what I gather on this forum, door lock actuators going out on 4Runners are a fairly common occurrence. Also, there is a member here having the front differential replaced in his brand new 4Runner. So Toyota is not without issue either.
