    I watched one of the new Tacoma videos, and it looks really good to me. The turbo 4, if it ends up being reliable, looks like a huge upgrade from the 2GR-FKS. As far as power, it's going to be a significant improvement from the 1GR, as well.

    I am much more excited about the 6th gen 4Runner now that the Tacoma has been announced!

    The 4Runner? Or, the Tacoma? I doubt either one is getting discontinued anytime soon.

    Ha! I remember when I started looking in 2018, thinking that maybe I'd wait for the 6th gen. Lol!

    But, now it seems pretty well established that the 6th gen is on its way next year... sometime... maybe...

    Whether or not it will be any good is unknown. Based on the new Taco, I'm pretty optimistic.

    I absolutely hope you are correct, that is why I'm keeping a close eye on purchasing the 6th gen 4Runner or new Land Cruiser. But remember, CALTY is the stylistic design studio, not the detailed engineering groups responsible for the design of the drivetrain, electronics, etc.

    A slick marketing campaign does not equal solid engineering design or quality manufacturing. After seeing the Sequoia first year issues and the Bronco fiascos, I'm cautiously optimistic that Toyota learned from both and we will be pleasantly surprised with the new Tacoma, 4Runner and Land Cruiser.

    A good point. But given Toyota's track record for reliability, the engineering part doesn't have me concerned. I think they'll get it right.

    I think they'll get it right too...
    but did they get the tundra grille right, it's massive and kinda gaudy
    but did they get the tundra tail lights right lol no
    the Tacoma tail lights are nearly the same level of ugly
    and could argue the Sequoia / Tundra headlights have too much going on, that's alot of led and wrap around.

    Hahah ya, I've said before too that less is more. And I miss the old tight body's, trucks have all ballooned so big in our market.
    Just my opinion as well. Of course the features I referenced are just cosmetic, and are creative new designs that incorporate the safety requirements. I'm confident new Toyota powertrain and mechanical will still be solid.
