The elusive Toyota Cooler exists. Imagine my surprise when I opened the nondescript brown cardboard box of accessories and this was in it. With Toyota straps. Think it may be a YETI. Thoughts?

Yeah, that's the one that is (or was) listed as an option on the Toyota web site. I don't know who makes it. I can't rule out Yeti.

I’d say yes, it looks like the Yeti cooler my son has, darn their expensive.

I'm going to have to have one of those..... A 5-day cooler is a basic preparedness item.....

    PT977-89210-04 for a white one.
PT977-89210-03 for the lunar rock color.

BAM has them for $327 plus shipping. Fair price for a Yeti.

    The forum strikes again!

OK, I've spent money on far worse in my life. Got it today. White to match the Super White SR5P. Nice cooler. It came with the straps and some metal brackets to install for tie down points which are for the rear sliding cargo tray (which I have). Took me a little searching to find some instructions or even just a video. Uploading to this thread for convenience. Not sure if I'm going to install the brackets. The cooler has substantial rubber pads underneath on all 4 corners. You are not going to just slide it around. Any other manner of strapping something down would work just fine. I'm not planning on doing any barrel rolls with the truck.

The only thing I can criticize other than price is that the rubber seal on the lid is not a continuous O-ring. It is strip stock with a cut where the ends meet. If is get flipped over it will leak a little. It is not an insulated Pelican case. Close.

If it’s able to leak, doesn’t that mean it’s not air tight seal? That’s seems like it wouldn’t keep the cold air trapped in the cooler and thus melt ice faster.

I bought the lunar rock one last year to match my truck. A little expensive but fair price compared to the actual yeti. No regrets.

Yet the issue remains…just who makes this cooler? Now it’s a vision quest.

    Good luck with that one.

I think they purposely modified how it looked a little so no one would know. They will probably say to match the 4R more.

No need to tie it down unless you are doing some major off roading.

The weight of the cooler and those rubber pads are like glue.
