Tires for T4R OFP

I am looking seriously at purchasing a new T4R ORP 2020 and we live in Indiana, so we get a good amount of Rain and Snow. I will be driving the vehicle mostly in city - 70% city and 30% weekend adventure. I am seeing various opinions regarding 3 tires I am considering. Nitto Terra Grappler / BFG KO2 or Cooper Discover ATP.

Bonus questions - should I get the slide out tray in back?
What up with the dash cams? Is it mostly just for recording trails?

Welcome to the forum, dash cams can be used for proof in accidents as well.

 

Just a thought, you might want to throw the Toyo AT3 into the mix. It has the severe snow rating, which is pretty cool for a tire that is otherwise designed to be all season.

Slide out tray gives you a flat load floor when you fold down the rear seats, so that's cool in addition to its obvious features. Without it there's a big hump between the cargo floor and the folded seats. Note though that the tray raises the cargo floor about 2-3 inches. So something to consider if you plan to load tall objects back there.

 

I use winter tires in winter and K02s in summer. A good winter tire is safer than an all season, or snow rated tire. If safety is a concern, it’s cheap risk reduction. They make a big difference where you have real winter driving conditions. In some areas of Canada, they’re required by law.
You’ll never go wrong with K02s, they’re great tires. But your other options are good too.
