Looking for recommendations from more knowledgeable folks in terms of an all terrain tire that still gives me a quiet ride since 80% of my driving would be on pavement / highways, and 20% would be on dirt roads / beach areas.

Kind of eyeballing a set of Toyo Open Country's but was also looking for a Nitto set. Anyone here have experience with either / or / both? For context I'm just trying to get my ride to look a little more macho (see attached), but functional for reasons cited above.

    Thanks brolios

Michelin LTX A/T 2 is a great choice. Pricey but they have a 60k tread wear warranty.

I run them on my Sequoia and ran them on my 97' Tacoma 4x4.

I’m also looking. I’ve read in other posts that many people have gone to 275/55/20 without issue. Lots of options available at that size. However, some installers will not put them on our stock rims including my local Discount Tire, too wide. I am looking for a local independent shop that is willing to bend the rules for me. As far as stock size, we pretty much have 1 option for an aggressive 20” tire, Toyo Open Country III. Not sure how it will look in that narrow of a size? Anyone running these in stock size?

Highly suggest you go for 17in wheel and tire combo. If you plan to keep it stock a TRD Pro wheel with 265/70R17 tire would be perfect. If you plan to lift yours and get 285/70R17 tires TRD Pro wheels may not be the right choice.

As for tire choice BFG KO2 in Load range C is my fav. Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac is my second best choice. Falken Wildpeaks are a great tires too. As for tire noise BFG KO2 & Falken Wildpeaks are same noise level & Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac have little more noise. Nitto Terra Grappler G2 was on the high side of noise level.

I have the stock 20" in the AT II. Pretty pleased, wish for more sidewall. I will eventually switch to 17" wheels. tire1.jpg tire2.jpg tire3.jpg
