the overtrail appears to be an LX700h only trim and starts at 115k USD.

    Toyota:

"Hey Americans, you want a 300 Land Cruiser? Be prepared to pay for at least 106k while we sell base trims for a little over half that in Australia. Pay up!"

    Also Toyota:

"there is no demand in the US for full size Land Cruiser."

I am assuming this bad boy has that e-kdss which other trims don't. And a front Locker. I think Toyota is going after the triple locked IFS G Wagon.

They must really want to squeeze the market because on the GX the E-KDSS is on the overtrail trim only, I believe.

Boy we had it good being able to get KDSS equipped ORs with rear locker for like 1/3-1/2 of the price of the new E version offerings. Sucks for the TRD Pro guys, they got ripped off and have to argue all the time how KDSS has no offroad value with strangers on the internet, when the EKDSS is limited to top trim Lexus in the US now and even in australia, only available in the LC GR Sport top trim.

@106k for the base model the demand will be low. So Toyota is kind of right.

KDSS has always been a highend Land Cruiser feature, we peasants got lucky once that we got it on the 4Runner.

The GX550 front end would have definitely helped the sales

Hybrid battery and 3rd row. Think people will bitch about lack of cargo space like they did with the Sequoia?

Last year of 200 LC didn't have a 3rd row.

^Last year of the LX570 had three rows though. Last year of 200-series branded as Land Cruiser took three years to sell, so it's rather irrelevant.

Toyota sold 4000 units of 2021 LC, this overtrail LX will do just that and apparently Toyota is fine with that. If you take inflation into account, this LX overtrail costs a little more than the 2021 LC. But you get a lot more for that money.

^That's true. The 200-series never even got a rear locker through its entire production run.

Front locker on IFS can be problematic, but Toyota is counting on these never going offroad. They have even hidden the locker buttons under the steering wheel lol.

One-at-this-price stripper. Bought new 34 yrs ago, a $13K leftover. Added Detroit TruTrac, 1”rear spring spacer and “pinstripes”… Factory AC kit and roof rack bought at dealer cost at time of purchase, still blows ice cold 32yrs later. 2022 AG ORP all stock.
You could buy two TRD 4Runners at that $.

Will anyone that buys one of these ever use a front locker or even the rear? These will be driven by trophy wives to drop their kids off at private school and to meet their friends for lunch and pickle ball.

Every single Toyota hybrid lacks an alternator, the hybrid battery acts as alternator. Not this bad boy, it has an alternater as well just in case the battery fails. It is an overbuilt Land Cruiser

Hybrid battery AND third row? Damn, that must be some year 2035 technology Toyota yanked out of a hat to pull that off. (semi-sarcastic)

I just saw a press release mentioning it, it has a separate backup alternator AND starter whereas the motor-generator normally does triple duty. Sweet, beautiful redundancy.

It talks about battery waterproofing too.

    https://www.lexus.com.sg/en/discove...a-newly-developed-advanced-hybrid-system.html

Assuming no difference between that and the US model.
