2016 5th gen, stock, 55k miles. Started hearing popping in my suspension. started in the front and moved to back. Made popping sound when starting, stopping, turning around corners. Really bad. Took to shop, they recommended shocks which I already wanted to replace anyway. This is where it gets strange. I took it off road, very light off road, threw it in 4low just to work the transfer case, and at one point on a pretty steep down hill, I thought I'd give the down hill assist a try, so I engaged that for about 30 seconds, then turned it off. Put back in 2WD and the popping was gone, totally gone, like night and day. Any thoughts here. Crazy.

What condition are your bushings in?

Well I'm not sure. Because now the popping sound has totally disappeared. I'm having 5100's all around installed tomorrow. I'll have them check the bushings. Is there anything else that I should make sure to have the shop look at??

I mean, you could have a suspension bushing issue, issues with CV joints... The tough thing is, because it went away, and you can't replicate it, it's easy to guess things and harder to actually come up with answers.

You might have nothing actually wrong too!

Yeah, and it was popping for over 3 weeks, every time I drove it. At one point I was like, should I even drive this thing. Any thoughts on the DAC and its possible involvement??

    Doubtful.

I'd have the shop look over everything with the suspension while they are under there.
