Hey all from Alaska! I have a 2021 TRD Off Road Premium around 18k miles and just noticed a tapping sound/something loose where the module housing MTS/Crawl Control knobs are. Only makes noise when going between speeds of 50mph-70mph on the highway. Doesn't seem like anything is loose that I am aware of and tapping the module while stationary doesn't recreate the noise. With the radio up I barely notice it butttt being OCD about it i'm definitely more aware haha whoops! I have an appointment with dealership here in about a month but any other owners have similar issues or thoughts? Thank you!

Have you tried riding around with that top center cluster out to see if you can see it or hear it better

Following. I have a similar tapping coming from what I thought was the very front of the sunroof, but could also be this area. I’ll definitely be listening for it up there now.

I would rather not take it apart (lack of experience) but I've now got myself looking at ways to open it up and it doesn't look too difficult to get open the upper console section but the Toyota Safety Sense camera/part doesn't look easy to come off the actual glass if it can at all.

Let me know what you find out, it almost sounds like a bug is hitting that part of the glass where the Safety Sense camera.

Update: Noticed it only in the morning on the way to work when inside temperature of car<outside (not often in Alaska except for summer haha) but not on way back home temperature of car=temperature outside. Did not disassemble anything yet... saw another post somewhere that it might be temperature related and had another reply where they used WD40 in the area between where the glass and metal of roof meet so I decided to try and so far have not heard the sound yet. Will keep ya'll posted.

Toyota had issues with windshields before. There was a TSB for it on my 2nd gen Tacoma.

Yeah I just passed 18k miles on mine and hope that isn't the issue (always could just get windshield replaced by Safelite) but WD40 seems to be working ok for now.
