    Hey everyone,

I have a 2016, and have noticed a tapping sound from the engine. I asked the service guy about it a few years ago. He said that's just the way they are. But I keep thinking it is something potentially serious. Any experience with this? Is my engine going to blow one day? I have 91000 miles on it. Thanks.

He’s correct. My 2019 does it, and I believe they all do. Apparently something to do with an intake solenoid or something, not a valve issue.

Yep, they're noisy engines. 103K on my '19 and it hasn't blown up yet. :D

Yep, welcome to the club. Dual overhead cams, three timing chains, lifters and noisy injectors all sitting at the top of the motor.

My 2022 with fresh oil has a slight rhythmic sewing machine valve train sound, Throw in (a slightly above average) injector noise and it merges into a nice tune when all is good.
