tail light circuit!! tail, dash, running, license plate lights all out.

    tail light circuit out! tail, dash, running, license plate lights all out. all other lights work.
    ive replaced fuses, relays, headlight switch!!!
    does anyone have a tail light circuit diagram? I printed something out, but something on it doesn't add up, so want to verify it's correct. thanks, r

    many lights, sound system, engine swap
    make sure you have no shorts in your taillights then replace your dimmer switch in your dash. mine did the same and that fixed it.

    Doug Thorley long tube headers and lots of mud
    I agree. Dimmer switch could very well be the cause

    lol quite common, with the 2nd gen's anyways, for some stupid reason the dimmer switch for the interior dash lights and whatnot has an effect on the tail assemblies, however, I didnt buy brand new and had to buy 4 different dimmers before i found one that worked... before you do that, make sure if you have a trailer light setup that its been installed correctly... i had to delete mine and redo it because the way it was wired in created a rats nest of wires, and therefore shorted everything out, damn near burnt my truck to the ground... And to add to my answer to the original question, there are two fuses labled AM1 and AM2. make sure both are good, because if they aren't, AM1 could be burnt, but the truck will still run and some random things wont work (ie. power mirrors, daytime running lights, dash lights, cargo lights... the works.). You'd know if AM2 was burnt, lol no power to the truck WHATSOEVER!
