    Hi all,
I have a 2022 trd orp and recently it's been rattling a bit at low speeds in the front driver wheel. It has aftermarket suspension lift, so worried about getting warranty work done. My off road shop says there's play in the front axle indicative of a needle bearing issue (although I still notice it in 4wd).

I called the local toyota dealer and they say they've never heard of a needle bearing issue. I need the TSB to prove it before they charge me to dx a car still under warrenty.

Anyone have it handy? Not the one for 16-19, but the 22 year.
    Thanks!

Whether you find the TSB or not, chances are it's going to be on your dime because of the aftermarket suspension lift. And, any Toyota dealer that hasn't heard of the needle bearing issue is one to be avoided.

Not even worth it if lifted and its making noise its probably going to come back.

I'd just do the ECGS and be done with it. Anyone half decent with hand tools can do it at home. And you don't have to go to the dealer and wait.

    Oooh look, another mod.....

    1. The T-SB for this issue states there was a production change that fixed the issue, so your '22 should not have the problem.
    2. The T-SB for the 2016 - 2019 can be found here:
    3. I am always leery when a dealer tells me they haven't heard about a T-SB for a vehicle they sell.

Also, like @catbrown357 mentioned, once the dealership spots your after market lift, they are going to tell you to go pound sand. Even if there is a recall.

T-SB-0075-23 Covers the 2022. Note there are different fixes depending on build date of front diff

    Awesome find, thanks!

My symptoms don't match. It's a jiggling/loose noise, mostly happens at low speed, maybe more on a right turn (all drives side) and putting in 4wd doesn't fix it. However, the axle has play, which the 4x4 shop says is usually the first symptom. It's not the CV, there's no clicking.

Also, regarding warranty: I'll be pretty pissed if they try to deny a warrantied dif bushing bc of a small suspension lift. The two have nothing to do with each other. You can lift a jeep like 3 inches and put tires up to 35" before they even bat an eye at warranty voiding. I'll be pretty frustrated if Toyota is worse than Stellantis!

I can tell you from first hand experience the Toyota warranty process is a joke. It is not worth the paper it's printed on. I was told directly from Toyota that their warranty does not cover defects in workmanship or materials.

I can tell you this is bull shit.

I've gotten tons of stuff warrantied from my dealer over multiple vehicles. I've even had my dealer warranty a battery which is clearly a wear and tear item but it died in less than a year.

If "Toyota" directly told you this show it.

Reading this pdf, it appears that 4R's built after April 11 2022 do not have the front diff replaced as part of the fix but rather a "dynamic damper" part #41196-60020 installed.

Does anyone have a picture of what that looks like? I googled the part number but can't seem to find an actual picture of it. Is this a part that is already on the truck?

*Edit* Found this on a Lexus parts site but not a real picture. Is it some type of counter weight?

Neat story. I thought your toyotas were so great and never had any issues.

Warranty action is only as good as the service manager allows it to be. If you go to a different dealership you might get a different answer. I talked to 3 different dealerships and basically got 3 different responses, one said there was a problem, instead of the 50/50 chance of having a short/long term fix, opted for the ECGS bushing.. long term fix.

And as I read it, if you get the diff replaced you also get the damper.

But what changed after April 11 2022 that doesn't require the diff to be changed, just the damper added? That's what I'm wondering.
