none yet, supercharger soon as available
Any idea why Magnuson hasn't gotten out a 2020 version of their supercharger yet? Apparently the 2019 version won't work.

Maybe they raised the compression? Usually low is needed for boost...

I spoke to Magnuson about this OP, it's because for 2020 they added the TSS stuff and it changed the computer's programming. Likely the fuel maps and all that are the same, but Toyota encrypts their ECUs and so now someone has to crack the encryption again is my guess.

Source: I emailed them directly and got a response directly from them (this was December, however):

    Good afternoon Lee,

Thank you for contacting Magnuson Superchargers.

We are currently working on the 2020 4Runner calibration compatibility and should have it soon!

Being the relationship yota has with magnuson you would think they would get past this hurdle quickly.

Eh, it took until like 2017 to get the SC for the 5th gens, which is 7 years after the release of that gen. I'm guessing 2022 if they hustle, which lines up with me paying mine off and ready for the SC anyways.

It is true Magnuson manufactured the TRD Pro supercharger back in the day for the TRD program, but since those ties are now cut, so is access to the ECU.

However, they certainly have the knowledge to build safe and reasonable power, so of all the companies that offer this, they are my pick. URD makes more power, but requires a tuners touch. Magnuson will be more of a set it and forget it.

Magnusson is barely coming out with a 2016+ 3.5L Tacoma kit. With less than one year of 2020 4runners being sold, let's call it a LOW PRIORITY.

Interesting, I was inquiring about a supercharger for a 2021 that I just ordered. Sounds like I might be waiting a while for Magnuson to produce the correct package?

I have a 2020 Limited i want to supercharge. I searched and cannot find a single article or video of a procharged 4runner. The computer changed in 2020 so I am sure procharger does not support the computers .

I have only had a supercharged car for a year and a half. They are awesome, to be sure. Superchargers generate a lot of heat. Intercoolers must be adequate. Also, with our Shelby GT500, we added an oil catch can, as blow-by can really gunk up a supercharger. A vented hood is a must, too... to evacuate all that heat. As far as maintenance, i don't see anything in the owner's manual indicating anything unusual. The power surge is undeniable.

Has anyone delt with the ProCharger? I am about ready to see if my dealer can make that purchase over the Magnusun. I am not planning on waiting for another 6 years before they decide to see this as a priority or not. Any insight on the ProCharger vs Magnuson would be greatly appreciated.

UPDATE April 5, 2021: I just received an email from ProCharger and though their website says that they support the 2020 4Runner, they said the following:

Thank you for your interest in ProCharger Superchargers. We have a great option for the Toyota 4Runner, but it is currently only available through 2019 due to tuning limitations on the 2020 & 21 model years. Once tuning becomes available we will be offering systems for these as well.
For reference, on the 2019 model year our complete system for the 4.0L engine has shown to add over 90 HP and 60 TQ to the wheels on our in house chassis dyno! For more information check out our website.
    https://www.procharger.com/truck-superchargers/toyota/4runner/2020-2010-4runner-40
If you would like to discuss this offering in detail, please give our sales team a call at 913-338-2886, 8:00 – 5:30 M-F CST.
Thank you for contacting us and for considering ProCharger as The Ultimate Power Adder.
    Thank You,
    Accessible Technologies, Inc.

Looks like there is no current solution for the 20/21 4Runner.

    Pretty much.

I have since gone to Colorado where I felt forced induction would be the best place but honestly going there NA I was fine.

At this point I think I want the boring reliability so I'll hold on to my money. It would be fun tho....

I was gonna change my Camaros’ AC Delco plugs to NGK Iridium. Had them in my hand. Then read reviews that they were Ford plugs so I returned them...

2020+ 4Runner tuning isn't available because they went to a gen2 ecu type (2019 and earlier were Gen1) and included a completely new security control.

It's hard enough as it is. Previous model years are bench-read only, can't just read out the stock file via obd. OVTune has discovered that 2020+ can't even be bench-read apparently and due to the security controls, swapping ECUs may not be an option either.

As of right now, a TSB ECU update file (cuw) may be the only way to get the stock file and develop tuning support. And that's just speculation on my part.

I really want to tune the wife's 2020.

I feel that the Magnuson Supercharger would really get my 2021 TRD Pro to exactly where it should be, power-
wise. I guess I will just have to wait, like everyone else, for them to crack these ECUs...

I too waited a long time and have given up. I'm going to regear. Considering I tow some this will make things easier on the drivetrain anyways.

I'm in Colorado as well, and my 2021 has been fine wherever I've taken it, climbing 12,000+ foot passes, etc. I'm still tempted by a supercharger just for the fun factor, so I'm kind of glad they're not available so I don't have to think about it!

Agree, but the beauty of this engine is its super reliability. I've towed in mountains, offroaded in mountains. It's not a powerhouse but it keeps getting it done, even at high altitude. It's sufficient, which isn't exciting, but it's what you wanted when you envisioned this thing before you bought it. A more reliable Jeep :)

Coming off a 3.5L ecoboost it was rough for a few months, but it got better and now I feel pretty good about it's power...mainly because I have forgotten how awesome that 3.5L TT was.

Yep, I think it totally depends on what you're used to driving. I came to the 4R from a long line of reliable cars with boring engines, the most recent being a CVT Subaru, so for me the 4R feels like a performance vehicle!
