Sunny state users - question for you

Question to Az, Tx, and other states with hot summer months...

I have a TRD ORP on order, and I'm thinking I may not like the fake leather seats.. I don't like sitting on leather or leather like seats anyway especially when it's hot because when it's hot, it's really hot, when it's cold, it's also very cold.

Do you have a vehicle with similar upholstered seats?

What do you like and don't like about them?

I have the Softex seats in my ORP, and have also read a lot of complaints about them. I live in Arizona, which in the summer, is a lot like living on the surface of the sun! One of the first things I did is get my windows tinted at 15%, and honestly I love the seats. I am always turning down the AC in my house, and if there was anyone who would say the Softex is too hot, or doesn't breathe it would be me for sure. I can say, that in my case, they are great, easy to clean, and very comfortable. I hope this helps with your decision.

 

No problem with my Softex seats. The widows are tinted,the air works well and a large sheepskin from my motorcycle.

 

I have a 2020 with the Softex (fake leather) seats. I live in AZ but my A/C works so don't have any problem with the seats. In over 100 degree weather, like now, really don't notice any difference from leather.
I would have preferred the real leather but I think you have to buy the Limited to get those. Plus they are an ugly color.
I have lived here for 21 years. All previous vehicles had leather. No problem, either hot or cold.

 

I agree with the others. I bought my 4runner in TX before moving to Colorado recently and had no issues with sun/heat and the softex material.
