Hello all, I picked up a new 2021 4r ORP and when the sun is setting, I often find myself getting blinded by the reflection off of the hood scoop. I remember reading somewhere that you can get a matte decal that does over the hood scoop, but I don't remember where. If anyone knows where to grab one, or if you have experience with them, please let me know. Thanks in advance!

I don't get why so many people complain about glare from the hood scoop. There's gotta be some kind of trade-off for the performance boost you get from those things :boink: ;)

It's weird. I've only had it be an issue a fee times. But, the first time I was actually driving around with another member here and talking about how I never had an issue with glare.

I got mine from Beyond Wraps. They're local to me and installed it as well. I know they ship out their decals if you want to try your hand at installing them on your own. Theres also tutorial videos on their site.

    Haha! I hear you.

Many years ago before my 4R days I was driving west into the sunset along a hilly 2 lane in a forested area with the annoying glare of a dirty windshield. Suddenly the shadow of a large deer eclipsed my windshield. Just missed me. I was lucky.

Instead of matte black has anybody tried matte clear film.
I'm wondering if it would do the job and be less noticable.

I had the whole front of my truck fitted with paint protection film and have not noticed any glare. PPF is a great addition anyway so maybe try that to address the glare?

I actually also had ppf installed, but mine only covers the front of the vehicle that is subject to rock chips, rather than the actual hood scoop.

Ive considered this....it is really bad when its just the right angle...but Im going to try and find a solar panel solution. Lensun is making some that are close already.

Wondering how these decals do after a year or more. In other words, are weeing, like some ppf, the edges curling up due to dirt, grime, or other debris? Do they tend to peel up when you hit with a wash mitt or an orbital polisher?

The good ones are the same vinyl they use to wrap cars. As long as you get 3M or Avery and not some Amazon Pudong shit, they won't do that if properly applied

Get a scoopless hood. It does nothing anyway.
