I’m trying to replace the rotors on my 3rd gen, but I cannot for the life of me, get this bolt off. It’s holding the brake line I place and I can’t move the caliper without taking the bolt out. I’ve tried everything I have, a heat gun, PB Blaster. It won’t budge. I’ve already stripped the bolt on other side unfortunately. Any suggestions??1F51756F-6AC8-44E1-B497-0FA937E50DA5.jpg

Very clean 3rd Gen. I take it you don’t off road? I don’t recall removing that but when I did my rotors? Can’t you just remove the clip and it’s free?

Not yet! Haha just bought it! The caliper wont move because it’s attached to that point with a steel brake line, so the bolt needs to come out. Does yours have the OEM brake lines?

You need new brake lines anyways. That one is shot.

As to the bolt, I would dremel the head off.

Always use 6 wall sockets on these bolts, that'll prevent stripping. I take it you used an open ended wrench or something?

Heat helps but what I end up doing first is whacking the head of said bolt a couple of times with a small sledge or hammer of some sort.

I just did brake lines on my Land Cruiser a few days ago and I too ran into some very stubborn bolts.

I‘m serious there’s a clip on the front here that will free up the line so you can hang your caliper.
