Any of y'all keep 265/70/17 on your 4runners after a lift? I just picked up some wild peaks and I was curious if they would just look dwarfed with a 2-3 inch lift. Pictures would be great.

There’s people that do it. Some think it looks fine, others think stock tires look too small with a lift. I personally think the latter, but you gotta do what you like best.

I’m expecting to think they look too small but I haven’t seen it yet.

Why don't you level the truck instead of a 2-3" lift at first, and run the stock size tires, to see what you think?

I mean that is an option. But that’s not what I’m looking for in this thread.

    Here's a picture I dug up from another forum. Stock tires + 3" lift.mylift-crop_zpsa52f18ba.jpg

There are some other pictures as well.

Eibach PRO fronts. OME 8295's rear. Towing here but not much weight. Not getting bigger tires anytime soon until I can re-gear and may never do that.

I think it looks good. It seems to depend on the style of the tire. More aggressive tires look OK. Lifted with granny tires looks weird. IMO

I'm not a fan of stock size wheels when lifted 2 - 3".

    From the side looks ok.

Front the front or rear with the skinnies on its looks funny. The small width makes all the difference.

If you go higher than 3" looks like ass all around.

    Stock rims/tires with 3"

I think this would look better with more aggressive tires. Same with the pictures posted by @Dillusion

Does anyone else agree? It really seems like it's the all season/highway tires that make it look weird.

That said, I would prefer less lift and more tire. I think that will be a better setup for daily driving.

This was before I switched tires. 2.75” lift in front. 1" in rear.

AT tires at stock size could help a bit.

But I still think the view from front or back is what it lacks.

    Lol!

When I was a kid, there was a house a few blocks away with a full size lifted sky high. It was almost always sitting on small tires, though. IDK if the guy ran out of money after the lift or what. One time I was walking past, and it had some big ass mud tires on it. "Finally!" I thought. Then, after awhile, the tiny stock looking tires were back on it. I wish I knew what the story was.

Oftentimes, the big tires are just show and the vehicle is nearly impossible to transport with them on.

    That makes sense.

I know I've seen a handful of rigs that would surely get pulled over by any cop who saw them.

Actually, an old friend of mine had a 1st gen Tacoma, big lift, big tires, supercharged, ETC. He got pulled over and the cop let him have it to the extent that he got rid of the truck.

He traded it in on a Lexus, and he didn't get a dime extra for his nearly $20K worth of mods. Ouch!

Especially the crappy narrow roads they have around here. Actually there not roads but horse and buggy trails someone just through pavement down on.:)

Was the truck registered and insured? If so, then your friend was the victim of a BSC (Bored Suburban Cop).

LOL! Definitely a bored cop. Small town outside of the city in Lake County.

Exhaust was illegal, tires were illegal (only allowed to stick out 2" beyond stock wheel well), not sure what else. I'm sure he was speeding or doing something dumb.

The funny thing is, I consistently see full size trucks with massive lift and wheels sticking out 4-5". I wonder if most people just don't know the law, or if it's only enforced selectively.

Our state has a limit on bumper heights. If you can rig a drop bumper for street use, you are good. That was a while ago.
