    Hey guys…

Installed a hybrid slimline on my 2020 pro last night. Winch with access. Looks great.

In SSO’s PDF instructions it specifically says to remove the TRD Pro skid. Well - I did. Installed the bumper. Went to go put the skid back and it doesn’t fit.
There doesn’t seem to be a millimeter’s worth of clearance for it to fit under it alternatively and the two front bolts certainly aren’t tall enough to fit over it.

I messaged SSO and they said there shouldn’t be any fitment issues with pretty much any skid out there - especially OEM. Waiting to hear back from their mechanic.

That being said - I’m not sure what I did wrong here.

Bumper is beautiful. Install wasn’t terrible (it’s just heavy as crap with the winch + light bar).

    thanks!

    All of them.
Can you post pics showing where it’s hitting. SSO is right it shouldn’t hit there should be quite a bit of clearance

I had to angle my front part of skid in, then lift. It wouldn't just go straight up.

It can be difficult, I bought longer front bolts to help, I've also found its better to get them all started then tighten...... then just wait til you break one of the weld nuts loose and have to do inserts because theres no way to fix the now loose nut inside a boxed tube.:burnrubber:

    OP,

I just took delivery of an SSO slimline bumper with the high hoop for my 2021 OR.

Noted in the instructions for those with a TRD Pro skid plate is to remove the lower panel from the bumper (screws into main bumper) before reinstalling the TRD Pro skid plate. This will allow the skid to bolt up. Then reinstall the lower panel on the bumper.

I took a good look at my new SSO bumper and the panel referenced would interfere with the high front lip of the TRD Pro skid. Take a look and see if removing the panel will fix the issue for you..

    Cheers,
    Bob

No, the high hoop on the new SSO slimline bumper clears the TSS sensor. Several who have installed on 2020 & 2021 models have reported that TSS works fine.

SSO also confirms that there is no interference. As soon as I Install the one I just purchased (delivered to me on Friday), I’ll follow up with my results but not expecting any issues..

    Cheers,
    Bob

So i have a SSO bumper in build atm, so I'm kind of interested to see how this will go. Also running the TRD Skid plate but I removed the upper portion which I'm guessing is what people are suggesting to remove.

    Hi @ JollyGreenGiant,
I had similar issue with my skid plate and had to remove it as I couldn't fit well the SSO bumper. Did you end up removing the TRD skid plate after all? In your picture at the top, I don't see it. Just trying to figure out how to proceed with my install. I am doing exactly the same as yours. Thanks!

Just posting it here as well for completness of the thread. This is the SSO low profile bumper with the S2 clearance wings. I am not so thrilled about the Viper cut....but it is done.

Very nice looking truck, personally I think the slimline with the S2 clearance wings is the cleanest look of any front bumper situation that requires a viper cut. Your setup is what I plan to do to mine. That said, I haven't cut the truck yet, so I get it. Hopefully it becomes your new norm and you get used to it ?

Not sure if there was a follow up on this thread but this appears to be a Trd pro with a SSO’s bumper and Trd skid plate fitting just fine
