    Hi,
I just got a 4runner for my wife. I looked thru the maintenance schedule, etc... the next spark plugs change is 120k??? is that correct??? My 2009 Tacoma has to be done very 30k... it is the same engine (almost).

It’s in the manual for a reason but, definitely won’t run mine that long. Plan on changing mine out at 60k.

are you planning it to do it yourself? I looked at the engine,,, it has these 2 Air injector pumps... its really in the way of the spark plugs.

I just replaced mine at 118k. Iridium plugs looked in good condition. I drive a 2014 Tacoma for work 178k on original plugs no issues.
Plug change isn’t too difficult, the air valves need to be removed to access the middle plugs. Most difficult part of plug replacement.

Just make sure you don’t buy fake Toyota spark plugs. Just to save a few bucks I bought some “OEM” Toyota spark plugs on eBay. Found out later that there’s actually fake “OEM” Toyota parts out there. Toyota packaging, logos, prism decals , everything is faked. Ended up purchasing authentic OEM Toyota plugs at a legit Toyota parts vendor.
Compared them to the eBay plugs and packaging. Slight differences but to the naked eye, very hard to tell they are fake.

Oil filters and air filters seems like the most purchased fake “OEM” parts that people fall for.

Yes, will take a while but I imagine dealer will charge at least $300 when parts only cost ~$60. Not a fan of having people work on my vehicle unless it’s completely out of my scope.

I know you guys think I am pre-mature on thinking on spark plugs when I have only 86 miles on the clock, but I am one of those people willing to do the work IF i can... I watched a video on youtube on spark plugs change, and it wasn't much on the details on how they remove the pumps... shit is no joke. I just worry I miss something putting it back together.
