Siri-assisted phone calls, 2010 Limited. help!

2010 4Runner Limited

Hey folks, newbie here and I did try to search before posting. 2010 Limited, original JBL audio system. I have an iphone 13. Cannot successfully make a siri (voice assisted) phone call via the original bluetooth technology in the truck. Calls made with Siri immediately disconnect after dialing. Works fine if I use the phone to manually dial. Siri assisted calls work fine if not connected to the Toyota.

Anyone know if there is any way for Toyota to update the bluetooth tech so that this can work without resorting to some sort of radio transmitter?
