    Hello!

Not sure if “sidelight” is the correct term. It is in between the daytime running lights and full on headlights. The blinkers illuminate.

Well, on my 4Runner, the right blinker does not turn on only when sidelight is selected. It turns on with headlights and the blinker works.

    Im thinking a fuse.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you!

EDIT: Thanks everyone for the ideas. Upon checking again, I realized I had it backwards. The right blinker does not illuminate when the HEADLIGHTS are on, but still functions as a blinker.

if it was a fuse, both sides would be out

    Oooh look, another mod.....

Are you referring to the turn signal light(s)? It sounds like you have a dead bulb. I changed mine out because they're a sorry ass 5 watt halogen bulb. I bought an LED switch back.

Nope, I haven’t changed the lighting at all.

You think the bulb would be bad if it comes on with the headlights and the blinker works?

Yes, the turn signal light. It is on when headlights are on and the blinker works just fine, but it does not come on when the sidelights are on (the option between DRL and headlights (is it called sidelights?))

    you mean the 'running lights?'
    aka, marker lights?

I have not had my 2024 apart yet, so not sure if they are different bulbs for running lights and turn signal...
    @Borracho Loco any ideas?

The DRL are different from the blinker/side marker (see my post above that shows the blinker light).

I'm kind of confused why his blinker comes on normally, but the bulb won't stay illuminated when the stalk is set to "side lights". I'd just replace the bulb, because it's a halogen, with an LED.

This is how bright mine is after I upgraded:

I have been leaning that way, going full LED inside and out, but I really want to make sure it isn’t an electrical issue or a fuse/relay before I go start spending money to fix an issue I didn’t have.

Super cool though! I’m all about bright turn signals. I want people in the next state to see me turning haha

A quick way to check is to swap the bulbs. Put the left one in the right, and the right in the left one. Then test. If the problem stays the same, you have an electrical or fuse problem. If the problem follows the bulb, then you have a faulty or bad bulb.

    I like it.

How easy is it to open that bulb up?

It's not hard. But when you remove the wheel well liner, you're going in blind to pop out the bulb. Don't worry, you can "feel" it click out (and back in).

It is suppose to come on, when you have the head lights on. That means something is (possibly) wrong with the bulb.
