203k miles. Runs and drives great, but the frame is pretty rusted. I bought it for $9k and the previous owner didn't disclose the rust on the frame, so I feel very stupid.

Like holes in the frame or just surface rust? How bad is it? Sorry you gotta go through this, big bummer!

a few holes in the frame. I'm no mechanic, but I would say it's pretty bad at a few spots.

Lots with more in the works
4th gen 4runner (03-09) frames show discontinued when you try to find new ones from Toyota. Your only viable option for repair is to find a used frame in good condition and have it swapped or use Safety Caps weld in frame repair - https://www.autorust.com/product/all-safetcap-frame-repair-kits-for-03-09-4-runner/

Based off that, you need to make the decision if it is financially beneficial to you to have the repair work done or not. It won't be cheap, whichever route you take. Being that you aren't mechanical per your own statement, this is not something you would probably want to try to learn from.

My advise would be to sell the vehicle as is, fully disclosing the rust issue and suck up the loss on the sale price. Live and learn. I'm sorry this happened but you learned a lesson to do more homework next time.
