Hey guys and gals, the names Dave and im a newbie for the 4runners. i picked up a base a few months back and have been tinkering around with it. recently i scored an SR5 4runner for cheap money with 100 thousand less miles than mine. unfortunately the frame is gone. so ive decided to swap the motors over. i currently have the 3RZ-FE and am planning on swapping over to the 5VZ. I have no issues pulling motors and rebuilding them. ive just never done a swap like this. what should i be looking for on this swap? do i need to change out wiring harnesses? is the 4 year difference going to screw me in the end? its a 96 4runner base and a 2000 SR5 donor. thanks again for any help. this community is the bees knees.
