Sell 2006 V8 Limited (Black - 173k) or Replace Head Gaskets?

Hi Everyone!

My engine was overheating and I brought it to the mechanic. They told me that there was a:

"leak found at front of motor on right bank.Coolant leak at head gaskets and possibly warped motor from overheating. Coolant reservoir was empty - 3/4 of a gallon low on coolant."

Oil looked fine and the engine is not smoking. Options are to get a used motor, get the head gasket fixed and hope the motor is not warped, or sell it.

I am not sure if this is the start of needing to put a lot of money into it or just a one off. I am going back to school and can't afford a money pit which is why I bought the car to begin with. I also can't afford a newish car.

I am ALL Ears to suggestions or offers as I need to make a decision very soon.

How much they charging to take a chance on just the head gasket?

 

It looks like $2k. It kills me, but I may be inclined to sell it at this point. I just don't know, it's such a great car.
