Should have been in the 2021 to match the rest of the LED headlights lol. These tiny changes every year are annoying

I’m looking forward to the redesign....I’m not a rock crawler but want utility if I need to go off paved roads....the Bronco is too niche, jeeps...the same....Bronco sport, too small....I don’t want doors and roofs off either.

I simply hope something can be done in a redesign to improve mileage somewhat.

Question.....won’t the 20 inch wheels limit the sidewall height of the tires? I prefer a taller tire versus a bigger wheel....I’m not sure why the styling trend is for a smaller sidewall on a utility vehicle?

Ford quality is bad. Jeeps drive poorly. The 4Runner takes regular unleaded. Bad gas mileage and cheap gas... works out.

I just want the damn high-beams to work on these things. I have a 2021 TRD Pro, and the the Bi-LED is practically useless with high beam performance! I mean, we have a 9005 reflector and bulb, that does nothing! How ridiculous is that?

Took delivery of a '22 limited today. It has halogen DRLs like the earlier ones. Does anyone know if the '22 TRD Pro actually has LED DRLs?

My 22 SR5-P has the DRLs in LED and they are an auto on/off with the engine once you move to the on setting. The low/high are LED, low are not auto on/off, high have the auto on/off feature once you have turned on the high beams (you can turn this feature off), with of course the fog in LED.

there is a reason why the 4Runner design is so old. It just works. Just like jeep. Not much has changed in 15-20 years. 4Runner just doesn’t fall apart on itself

Just got our 2022 SR5 Premium On Friday. DRL are halogen sadly. Also surprised that it doesn't have auto on feature like my Tocoma.

Leave your DRL in the on position, turn your engine off and they will go off. When you restart they will come on. It's your headlights that aren't auto on.

That's what I was referring to, the headlights. I should have been more clear.

I’m still hoping someone makes a harness or something to utilize those bulbs as high beams again! It would be such an HUGE improvement for our night visibility!

A guy on the other forum did some re-wiring in order to convert the DRL bulbs to LEDs. He used Diode Dynamics 9005 HP48 bulbs.

Not with this mod. That would be a different design. I haven’t seen anyone DYI this yet for the 2022. The 2020+ halogen DRLs are wired in series so each bulb gets half power, unlike 14-19s where DRL was accomplished with pulse width modulation. Xenon Depot has an LED high beam product they say will dim the LEDs for DRL (making note of the OEM DRL scheme) for 14-21 model years. I haven’t heard any confirmation of it working for 20+ models.
