    Greetings.

I am seeking help with the use of the electrical diagrams for the 4Runner.

I have the huge PDF of the Factory Repair Manual, as well as the Electrical Diagrams. Unfortunately, they either do not have (or I am too stupid to find) the identification of the pins in the connectors.

Specifically, I am looking to find out what the four wires going into Connector O21 are for (this is one of the connectors leading to the towing plug at the tail end of the Runner).

I have a diagram similar to this one for the connector (this is just used as an example):

    84035d1284186986-does-anyone-have-wiring_668a09f065462eb4169638ce6438c814e3771aa4.jpg

But I don't have anything that tells me what the different wires are by pin number.

Am I missing something, looking in the wrong place, etc.?

    Thanks.

P.S. - The reason I need this is because in preparation for the installation of my SSO Tire Carrier, I need to relocate the license plate, which means I need to light the thing. Connector O21 (or the one immediately next to it) are the ideal places to connect into the driving lights circuit to light the new plate holder.

The Trailer Towing schematics (Before Aug 2019 Production) show that Toyota uses the RV industry’s standard wire color and pin out configuration. As opposed to the SAE standard, which is different.
Since “standards” differ it’s always a good idea to verify them on your vehicle with a voltmeter.

The wire/color list is from etrailer.
