I’ve been road tripping and camping out of my car and all of the sudden the security indicator started flashing red. I’ve been locking the doors with the remote while inside the car so I’m sure I did something where it now thinks there’s a security threat.

I’m in a remote area but there are a couple of other people around and I do not want to ruin their peacefulness with a car alarm. I also can’t stand the flashing red light all night. I know I can cover it up but from what I’ve read I might have an issue getting it to start tomorrow.

    Help, please!

Ok, it does seem like it will start so maybe it will turn off after I start it tomorrow?

    Bone stock!
I've not paid much attention to that indicator, but I believe all it means it's the alarm is set. I bet if you unlock a door manually and open the door while that light is flashing it'll set off the alarm... which is the horn... and it's loud.

Just disarm the alarm with the key fob before you hop out or try to start it and you'll be good to go.

    Have fun!

Exactly what I was worried about lol (setting off the alarm). How do you disarm it? I read some convos about how to turn it off, but I certainly don’t want to do that permanently.

Unless you have an aftermarket security system there should be no problem. I believe the purpose of that light is for a deterrent.
Test it before going to bed. If I had a 2021 I would go test it...

You disarm it by pressing the unlock button on the remote before opening a door.

Curious, I never lock my car when I sleep in it camping.
Maybe try to lock it from the door switch and not the fob? Maybe that won’t enable the alarm.

Thanks y’all! It ended starting up just fine. I’ll try to lock it from the door next time.

I lock it when I sleep in it purely for peace of mind. I’m tall and have two dogs... not exactly an ideal target for any shenanigans :)
