I recently installed an RCI Roof Rack on my 4R (love it!) but my fear is how easy it would be for a couple of thieves working together to steal it. All they need to do is remove eight bolts and steal it off the roof.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can secure my roof rack making it harder to steal?

    Thanks!

I don’t think you have anything to worry about as far as someone wanting to take it..

side questions, how do you like it so far, how is the wind noise compared to the Yakima, and finally ease of installation?

That is a very nice looking rack. I would definitely make sure your insurance company is aware of your new add-on even though, speaking for myself only, would not think that would be a high theft issue. If you have to park it outside, like most of us do, go for motion lights (and cameras if you can afford it).

I like it a lot! It is definitely a lot quieter than the factory Yakima basket and I noticed a 2.5MPG increase when I took off the Yakima rack. I did the install by myself by doing the side rails first then the cross bars. Once everything was attached I tightened it all together. Easy peasy

@L1011 going to install my RCI rack on my 19pro tomorrow. Did you use the RCI bolts for the mounting feet or stock ones? Did you reapply red or blue loctite to the threads? Were there torque specs for the bolts going into the roof?

thanks for any guidance you can offer.
