    He is right though.

What a disaster for Toyota with new turbo engines. The new 3.4 twin turbo even now got a class action law suite filled in Vermont Fedaral court.:frustrated:

If Tacoma is a reasonable guide, despite Scotty’s opinions, plenty here will line up to trade their Gen5 on the Gen6. And, having sampled the new Tacoma’s, I wish them the best.

I think we shouldn't allow low effort posts like this: youtube link without any contribution from the poster should be treated like the spam it is.

I saw one video of his where he informed me that I did not need to worry about rust in the frame of a 4 runner.

I've actively ignored anything else he posts.

Scotty is an annoying clickbaiter that has nothing of value to contribute, even when he happens to be correct. He should go back to waxing his Celica.

I'll admit that I've done this myself. I think I posted a link to some click bait article about how outdated the 5th gen was.. like three years ago!

Edit: it was actually February '23.

Can't stand him! The only word that describes him and his videos is 'shit'. He reminds me of those C grade movie producers looking for a naive new heroine for his next sleaze fest.
Anyone with a phone and Internet connection is an expert these days.
There is another one that does audio reviews called cheapaudioman. The guy is an imbicile and knows nothing about audio but still yaps his heart out.
These two, avoid like a plague.

I like to come here in the morning, sip my coffee, and look at new, informative threads that may have come up after I went to bed or early in the morning. Perhaps comment or give advice when it's warranted. But when someone posts a YouTube link to begin a thread with nothing but a grammatically incorrect title and Scotty Kilmer's dumb face, it puts me in a foul mood. Dammit. That's not how I want to start my day. We can do better folks. I'm sure of it.

He is right about the durability of the V6, should have commented about frame rust potential depending on location.

Despite not necessarily loving his videos I think he tries to give you his honest thoughts. This is why Toyota does not fly him to California for the new 4Runner release, did not send him to Hawaii for Taco release etc.

If you look at so many others like Raitis rides, TFL, and TRD John they are MUCH more careful what they say and comment and that’s why they get invited to the corporate events.

He treads hard but most of the time speaks the truth.

The fact is the early 2000s Toyotas, almost every model was simple, reliable, extremely easy to keep on the road, and it's been a downhill slide since. Even the 5th gen has the front needle bearing issue and fob nerfing, among other things, that Toyota has never addressed as an issue to the end.

You don't have to agree with him but there is a reason why 25 year old Camrys in my area with under 150k still regularly go for well over 5k and 20 year old 4runners with under 100k can go for as much as 70% of original sticker.

Despite us having two fairly new 5th gen, my forever car is my 2005 manual corolla. If I ever fall under hard times it's the last car I will ever sell.
