My 2019 safety connect red light turned on. Turned car off, it went out.
Is there a potential warranty, or lifespan toyota will support its software?

If I'm not mistaken I thought I saw an email that 2019 safety connect support will end Oct/2022. I was on auto pay till recently and I don't think there was a payment this month. Have to check what is the status on mine (if its green or red).

    From Toyota:
    What is happening?

As wireless technology continues to evolve, telecommunications providers in North America are making significant changes to their legacy communications infrastructures and network capabilities. As part of this process, these third-party providers have elected to discontinue the provision of 3G wireless services. This means that devices and services that currently require 3G wireless networks to function, including hardware installed in motor vehicles, will no longer work by the end of 2022.

    Why is this happening?

Telecommunications providers are discontinuing 3G services in favor of newer and more advanced LTE networks. Although these circumstances were created by factors beyond our control, we sincerely regret any inconvenience this may cause.

How does this impact Toyota vehicles with Safety Connect®?

Toyota Safety Connect® * will no longer function as of November 1, 2022. Affected Safety Connect® services include Automatic Collision Notification, Enhanced Roadside Assistance, * Emergency Assistance Button and Stolen Vehicle Locator. *

GPS not affected but who really relies on their car's Navigation anymore with all the apps available. Time to renew my AAA membership for the roadside Assistance. Let's see if the car thieves catch on and start getting their hands on a few 4runners without the SVL!

I guess I'm old school and only use Google maps around town. Heavily rely on in-built GPS on my trips. Love how easy it is to update the 2019 gps with just a microsd card.

Really wish if I can upgrade the 2019 safety connect to 2021 system so in addition to vehicle locator and emergency contact on a critical accident, in day today use I can check simple things like door lock status / windows open or close status. Remote start / door lock & unlock from phone is nice to have too.

My wife experienced the same situation with her 2019 Volkswagen. Connected services will be terminated when the 3G network goes dark.

Anyway to turn off the red light? It's super annoying.

You might try pulling the DCM fuse. On the 2019 it might be labeled Mayday.
