Anyone running the RRW rocksliders? Looking for my next mod and wanted some opinions from all of you to what rock sliders you all like.

    I went with RSG.

Here is a video of me and my sliders. At the time my Runner was completely stock except for the sliders.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pyH9z6k5ySg

I recently added the RSG Front Skid plate and KDSS Pump Skid Plate.

+1 for RSG. Excellent build quality and easy installation.

@rkwfxd I didn't realize that was you! Very cool! That video aided my decision to buy them. Thank you!

Yes. Had I known that feature was on that trail I would have never driven that way. I would have turned around and gone back if possible. But we all made is safely (two built jeeps, myself and my buddy's stock Tacoma with CB sliders).

I have the kickouts on mine and in a previous trip they saved my wheels from getting chewed up on the rocks.

Ha. I'm sure folks are getting tired of me posting it but when guys ask about sliders I just have to. Even if they don't buy RSG they can see the benefit of sliders over steps and the importance of not having stuff hang down.

These were on my short list at the time but the cost of shipping across the country took them out of the running.

+2 for RSG. @Thatbassguy is spot-on. Build quality is top notch and installation is straightforward. I went with the RSG angled sliders with top plate and kick out. Haven’t put them through the paces yet like @rkwfxd but think they’re great.

Another vote for RSG. They do have excellent build quality and easy installation, and work with KDSS. Jason @ RSG helped immensely when there was a shipping glitch with one of my sliders, and was even willing to re-ship another during that process, which ultimately didn't need to be done.

Flat sliders, no kickout, with a top plate, powder coated, were my choice.

If I decide to get a front skid plate, RSG will get the nod.

OP, I don't know where you are located, but RSG is in Colorado to figure shipping...

Ok cool, maybe I will go with RSG have any of you used a coupon code or know who sells them for best price?

I initially contacted RSG when I was researching from the contact page on their website:

    https://rsgmetalworks.com/pages/contact

Jason later sent me an email from his email address, and had a discount code to use when I placed my order. That code basically paid most of the shipping cost for me, which was lower due to my living in the next state over..

Two weeks ago they were using the discount code RSG125. I already have my sliders so I did not use it and I do not know if it is still valid. Good luck.

Don't thank me too soon. They make quality stuff and if you are like me you will end up ordering their front skid and trans skid (once it is available) and spending a bunch more money. LOL

Worth it IMO to not have to worry about trail damage to the undercarriage.

I just installed Metal Tech OPOR sliders. They seemed like the were the tightest to the body while still functioning as a step for the kids to get into the back.

Full weld on. Timbo's custom. He did a great job. Tight up to the body. Strong as they get. Permanent. Look great.

My RSG sliders are supposed to be here Thursday. Took about 4 weeks since I ordered them, pretty excited. Any heads up with installation or is it pretty straight forward?

Did RSG confirm that those would work on a Venture? My understanding was the rocker panels are different...

Well I didnt ask. I ordered online so didnt speak to any one. I assumed that all the trim levels are the same except maybe the limited or nightshade

    Do you have KDSS?

If so, you will need to notch the KDSS skid plate. I used an angle grinder with a cut off wheel. Took longer to get the grinder out and plug it in than to cut the notch. Another option is to order the RSG KDSS skid and just replace it. They did not have that when I installed my sliders but I have since added their KDSS skid and it is MUCH beefier than the factory one. I am also using their front skid as well which is also much beefier than the factory skid.

Finally, on my Runner, one of the KDSS hard lines that runs alone the driver side frame rail was just a bit too low for me to insert one of the bolts so I carefully used the floor jack against that line to flex it up slightly to get the bolt in. I made sure the line was not also bolted to the frame so that it had plenty of room to flex. I tried to do it by hand but those lines are stiff and strong.

Other than that, it is helpful to have a friend because they are heavy. Oh, yeah, I also used a bit of anti-seize (jump grease because that ish gets on EVERYTHING) on all the included bolts.

Never mind. Your last post reminded me that I was thinking of the Nightshade, not the Venture. You're good.

    Without KDSS it's a simple bolt-on installation.
