I understand this is a pretty trivial issue, but it is bedeviling me. The dash of my 22 SR5 carries at least 4 clocks. There is one on the little clock pod above the big display. It is very easy to manually change for Daylight Saving start and end. There is one that displays when an iPhone is connected, and it is taken from the iPhone and therefore self-setting. But the one on the home screen is the one confounding me. I went to settings->Clock and could not find a way to reset the clock after it did not reset itself to Standard time last week. I found only setting options to pick a time zone, one to use 24 hour clock, and one to automatically change for Daylight Savings. I finally found that if I disabled the automatic change for Daylight savings that this clock reset itself. Seems backwards to me, but is it confused because the US has changed the date of the Fall reset?

I'm accurate again now, so this is not a puzzle that needs urgent answers. But, I wonder if others found this on their 4Runner, and maybe found a better resolution than me.
    Thanks

    Oooh look, another mod.....

The first thing I did when I got my 23' was to turn on "Daylight savings time" in the infotainment. The only clock in my truck that I had to manually change was the tiny one ABOVE the infotainment.

The 2023 Toyota 4Runner has a daylight savings time feature that can be adjusted through the vehicle's settings menu:
    1. Go to the Settings menu
    2. Select Date & Time
    3. Choose Daylight Savings and switch it on
The car will then automatically update the time.

My 2023 automatically updated the time on the head unit. I didn't go through the menu but I'm guessing the 'Auto Adjust by GPS' may be selected on mine.

Thanks for all the hints. And, I learned more from following your suggestions:

First, I had no problem finding the clock screen. I just came in from my truck and confirmed a few things. It was 7:00 pm when I was there, and as I mentioned, I had it showing 19:00 by turning off Daylight Savings

    IMG_5438.jpg

But if I turn on Daylight Saving Time, it switches to an hour advance:

    IMG_5439.jpg

And, notice there was no place on the screen to adjust the actual time. Until I turned off the "Auto Adjust by GPS"

    IMG_5440.jpg

Then I got the option to adjust the clock. I still don't know why with Daylight Savings and Auto GPS I get the wrong time. But, I'm happy to have the right time again.

Thanks again - I guess this is just another mystery of life.

I don't think the DST means it auto adjusts. I think it means you turn it on when DST is active (i.e. turn it on in the spring, off in the fall).

That's how our 2022 Rav4 is, and I apparently haven't driven the 4R in over a week, so I haven't messed with that one yet.

I don't doubt your explanation - but if it is true, why would that be easier than just adjusting the clock one hour forward?

Maybe because you can't manually adjust the time when it's auto set by GPS

I think mine automatically updated. I remember years ago in my work truck I just left it always on DST. I was only in the truck an hour a day total. Wasn’t like I didn’t know what time it was. Lol

My DST setting thing is backwards as well, as in: we are in daylight savings time now and I had to uncheck the box to get the time right - which would seem to indicate that the truck thinks it's not daylight savings time currently.

Daylight Savings Time just ended, we are now on standard time. The summer has the adjusted times, not the winter.

Knowing when you're wrong doesn't make you retarded, lol. And I mean, it's not like anyone talks about the details that much.

Back to the OP: my 2020 4R has three settings for DST: On, Off, and Auto. Mine was set to auto, and the head unit did have the correct (rolled back time) when I started the car today.

Interesting they got rid of that feature on the newer models.

Terrible picture, but you get it:

Looks like the difference is premium models have auto DST, not years. OP has an SR5. You’ve got a OR Premium. My ‘21 Limited has the auto feature
