Yes, I popped the top of the mirror housing off to make sure I was able to get it off correctly, but that is not needed. Just adjust the mirror all the way left or right and pop it off. The hardest part is getting the heating plug removed.

    Bone stock!
Agreed. It's pretty easy to pop them off, but you'll fight that heating plug.

Try to do it on a warm day -- popping then off when it's cold might break some tabs on the mirror.

I got the same ones from suma, but opted out for the blue tint..

as mentioned above from the other members, it is really easy.. it will sound like you are damaging the mirror housing when you turn it to one side to pop off but you're not..there are 3 or 4 tabs the mirror clips into back into.. just make sure you put back the heating plug.. I made that mistake on the driver side (was too excited) put the other one on then thought to myself that I did not plug the heating element on the driver side.. total install 3 times lol..

FYI, they only sell these in pairs for swapping out the driver and passenger side mirrors. Unless you want the blue tint, there is no advantage to swapping out the passenger side mirror - it's already convex. The Suma or any other convex replacement mirror gives you the same exact reflection as the oem mirror. So, unless you want blue tint, turn signal embedded in mirror, or the BSM added feature, save yourself the trouble of swapping the passenger side if all you want is a convex mirror with the heating element.

They really should sell just the driver's side mirror to save some bucks.

Not sure what you're looking for but I got these two OEM mirrors for the RAV 4 here: https://parts.olathetoyota.com/

    LH Part #87961-42D20
    RH Part #87931-42D50

They are super easy to install and the plug mentioned was no big deal.

Just to clarify, the driver's side will make a difference, correct?

Yes. The driver side mirror will work just like your current passenger side mirror.

Just ordered a pair of the RAV 4 blind spot mirrors off ebay, $90 shipped from Japan. I'm guessing popping the mirror glass out is pretty easy. I put aspheric mirror glass in my Camaro and it was no problem at all. I just used a trim tool and they came right out and the replacements just popped back in.
