After the hard line, there is soft fuel hoses. One from hard line to fuel filter, then seems to be rubber line from fuel filter to T which appears to feed the cold start injector.

I would like to replace the soft lines with flexible steel braid line and mount the fuel filter to the fender.

While I'm there, I figure I'll replace the fuel pressure regulator, pulsation damper, and send in the injectors to be cleaned and calibrated.

I'm going to talk to the auto service place I work with and see what they recommend before I tear into it.

Is there a write-up for this work? I searched and couldn't find anything.

    Thanks,

    Joe

When I swapped in my 3RZ I converted the fuel line to Russell Performance lines and used AN-6 to metric fittings. Was cheaper and easier to do than trying to make the old stock lines work and replace the OEM soft/hard line at the gas tank.

Embarrassing but I couldn't get the lines off the fuel filter so brought it in. They are having a hard time sourcing new lines, so I picked up the old lines yesterday and am trying to figure out replacement.

Surely there is something I can get to replace these. How would I find out information on the fittings? The (2) small banjo fittings go on the fuel filter, big bango at the engine, and normal threaded fitting at the hard line.

I'm thinking if you replace the fitting at the hard line, you can put whatever cheap, generic in-line fuel filter, then the ONLY matching fitting is the big banjo at the engine.

Has anybody gotten into this before? Surely there's information out there, 34 year old rubber lines have got to be wearing out.

If you want to convert to AN fittings, you can use an M14x1.50 inverted flare to 6AN male adapter to connect to the fuel supply hose coming from the tank, and the fuel damper on the fuel rail. There are different flares though, so you have to make sure you find the correct one. I think the Radium Auto 14-0121 adapter will work, but don't take my word for it; http://www.radiumauto.com/M14-Inverted-Flare-to-6AN-Male-Fittings-P375.aspx

The banjo fittings at the filter are, I think, M12x1.25

Nice, thanks for posting these, I am debating replacing my lines as well.

Also I forgot that the fuel rail inlet is not flared and connects to the rail, not the dampener. Can use an M14x1.50 - 6AN adapter for that spot.

After I swapped in the 3rz I pretty much had to go this route. Most of the lines on my 84 were all old and didn't route how I wanted plus it had a carb.

I am new to this Board, but have been a 4Runr owner for about 4 years.
I am retired now, but my background is Porsche service since 1972. I have been making up Porsche fuel lines & hoses for many years, and recently had a request from a 86 4Runr owner to make up replacement hoses for his vehicle.
It seems that Toyota no longer offers new replacement Fuel Hoses and Lines for these older models.
Here is what I came up with.....

    669EA8AD-8848-488D-931E-E69B73EEF886_1_201_a.jpg
    39A66F3A-1A94-4C98-A8BC-DB365CB1F23C_1_201_a.jpg
    4E4E6DE2-C188-41E9-BFA2-BF9C299A3B2C_1_201_a.jpg

These are based upon your original Fuel Hose Fittings sent to me.
As with the Porsche Fuel lines and Hoses I make up, everything is E-85 Rated and will last for the lifetime of the vehicle.
If anyone has interest, please email me.

Sorry to unearth an old thread.
Len, if you are still making these I am very interested. I sent you an email. Thanks.
