    Lift kit Yota1 Stage 3 22RE Rebuild
This is the only kit option I've found. Has anyone used this, or could recommend another?

I recently had my engine rebuilt by Yota1 in Riverbank, CA. "Fixing" the A/C was on my to-do list, but they informed me I have no A/C at all, so I'm basically starting from scratch.

Heater and vent work great, currently, but obviously no cold air.

One-at-this-price stripper. Bought new 34 yrs ago, a $13K leftover. Added Detroit TruTrac, 1”rear spring spacer and “pinstripes”… Factory AC kit and roof rack bought at dealer cost at time of purchase, still blows ice cold 32yrs later. 2022 AG ORP all stock.
    Hi,
Unfortunately you are going to need quite a bit more than that to install AC.

Here is a Ebay link to what is required.

    $$$$$$$

A long, long time ago when I bought my stripper 22RE new in 1990 and AC was a option(not standard like now), Toyota had a complete kit available for the dealers to install AC on site for vehicles without. I was lucky to have a friend/dealer mechanic that told me this when I was about to begin negotiating on a leftover 22RE 4R. I got the AC kit, roof rack, cargo mat and running boards at dealer cost at time of the 4R purchase ($12,999 + above). No one wanted the 22RE 4R back then, they were the red headed stepchild on the dealer lot. Everyone wanted the 3.slow.
An afternoon installing the kit and then buying my friend a case of beer to take it to work, pump it down and back fill the Freon….. my wife was happy….OK….less unhappy.

The chances are slim and none to find a leftover factory kit nowadays so a used one is probably your only option. Maybe salvage yard with rust buckets? A unit out of a 2wd pickup would fit yours.

My 1990 4R was advertised in the newspaper paper late in 1990 “one at this price” $12,999.
Well, the dealer actually had 4 and wanted them gone, the 1991’s were already on the lot.
They had two Gold, one Red and one Black. The black one looked like it had a rough test drive and someone beat me to the red one while negotiating so I had my choice of the two golds(Sandalwood Metallic).
