I have a Sherpa roof rack and looking for a roof storage box. I like the storage capacity of the Thules/Yakimas but don’t like the look of them. I like the look of the Roam cases but they don’t seem to be able to carry much and some of the reviews complain about their hardware rusting. Any suggestions would be great..thanks!

I use a Pelican Vault. I too was looking for something that had a lot of useful space, but was also specifically looking for something smooth, without a lot of ridges to create wind turbulence. Ive used it for almost 2 years with 0 complaints.

Also keep in mind that if you’re going to keep it up there full-time, you’re probably going to want a handful of rechargeable desiccants in there to maintain the dew point such that you don’t get condensation (this one I found out the hard way).

Love my ROAM box, it actually holds more than expected. But yeah, there is some rusting of the metal parts even though they are painted, but its not terrible and more superficial. Super water tight, and love the piston opening. Not very aerodynamic though. lol
