Rear Storage & Sleeping Platform

    Just added a storage and sleeping platform to my 2023 OR, inspired by Antman, mscot, and others. Prior to building the platform, I removed the factory carpet and foam and installed a layer of sound dampening, with a layer of black trunk carpet on top of that. Really happy with the results as shown below.

    Notable features of the platform include covering it with a layer of rubber (non-slip, gym type) matting about 0.1" thick and installing stair nosing trim along the edge of the platform to protect against bumps and scratches.

    Thanks! The lack of storage compartments for tools was my main complaint with the 4Runner, so glad that's now solved.

    Wow, thanks!! I'm not a master woodworker, but I was able to design it such that the joints and imperfections aren't visible from the outside. ;)

    As far as carpentry goes you’re not a regular 2x4…you’re a bonafide stud.
