    Hello,

I've never had a vehicle that had the outlet in back and was curious if anyone had used it for short periods of time using a shop vac? With vehicle running of course. Or is the vac too much for it?

    Thanks in advance.

Mine works just fine with a shop vac.

Isn't the outlet rated at 400 watts? Or, did they make it more on newer ones?

Just did a quick search, and an average size shop vac (Rigid) was rated at 9 amps, which is 1080 watts at 120V.

I wouldn't recommend it, unless you have a very small shop vac that's rated at 3.33 amps or less. It might work fine for awhile, but it could burn out the inverter.

I'd run an extension cord, or get a battery powered shop vac from whatever brand of power tools you prefer.

I should have added, my shop vac is smaller size.

I tried using my Shark house vacuum with mine. It "worked", but seemed to b running at reduced speed and wasn't really effective.

What do others use the outlet for? Blowing up air mattresses, margarita blender?

I have used mine for air mattresses. I can't recall using it for anything besides that.

Yes. Also, charging the jackery while out on trails during camping trips. You could used the regular 12v charger too. I think the 120v plug is faster than the 12v for the jackery.

Air mattress, yes. And, I'm suddenly tempted to see if anyone makes a blender that won't overload it. :D

I used to use an inverter to power my bass amp for camping trip jam sessions back in my younger days.

The only drawback I see is that it doesn’t include a blender Molle mount. :p

Smoothies and jam sessions! They need to bring back the party mode button :D:D:D

    :bananadance:

So, what you're saying is that we're doing Margaritas and daiquiris at the next Wisconsin crew camping trip?

I don't know how to make either from scratch... yet. Sounds like I have some rough homework ahead of me.

Yes, yes they do. We have one... but it s 2-stroke and its bitchin! We've bought them for gifts for friends who have "everything".

As for the inverter, it has an automatic shut off if the amp draw is too high.

I definitely don't need a gas powered blender, as fun as it looks. I was looking for something that draws less than 400 watts, so I could just use the onboard power.

I guess if people are able to run a shop vac off of the inverter, it must have higher output than they are rated for. I assumed it would be fused to protect itself. I just wouldn't expect it to run something that draws that much.

Maybe if they made a 2-stroke powered blender with a 12v starter that draws less than 400 watts. I sense untapped market potential :D
