I’m looking for input on rear spring rate or air bags? I pull boat often tongue weight is around 250 pounds and load vehicle down for hunting trips across the country. I do not like the rear end drop and want to correct it. I have had the 4Runner for a little over a year now and the stock suspension needs to go and want to do it all at once. Do I add heavier springs or the bags. I would prefer a firm ride on the highway vs the rolling wondering suspension the stock shocks and springs provide. The bags would give more control over the ride but I’m not sure that’s the right way to go?

Dobinson has plenty of different springs with different spring rates.

Stock rear spring rate is 180lbs I believe.
Eibach 1" lift spring rate is 205lbs.

If it's just the rear suspension that you want to replace/upgrade you might consider the Eibach Load Leveling System. Comes in three load ranges; 0-200 lbs. / 200-400 lbs. / 400+ lbs and are adjustable up to 2".

Thanks for the advice. I think a 200 lb rear spring new shocks all the way around and if I still get a sag on my heavy trips I can add the airbags.
