RealTruck.com - they any good?

I want to start out by saying I am a little annoyed and not sure if I want to cancel my order... I messaged realtruck to "make sure" they had the Bugflector II in stock and that it would ship by Thanksgiving. Here is their reply:


Cool! So I went ahead and paid.

After 4-5 days of my order status saying "awaiting fulfillment", I messaged them again and got this:



Like I said, I am a little annoyed. Why tell me it would ship in 3-5 days, then suddenly it is out of stock until Late December? Wish I could run my business this way...

Anybody else have good/bad luck with Realtruck? Did I just get fleeced??

 

That seems to be the trend with online retailers these days. Like airlines overbooking their flights.

 

In their defense, they didn't tell you the item was IN STOCK, they said it would ship from their warehouse. So, once it is in stock, it'll ship. You didn't get fleeced, you just got wait listed.

A lot of companies do that, misleading customers. They tell 100 customers what they want to hear, hoping they order the last two items in stock. You're also ordering during the Black Friday rush. Be patient. You'll get your toy(s), but you won't get them when you want them.

 

Lol, that response is quite precisely crafted to appear to answer without answering. And I would imagine it’s an auto-response too.

 

Fair enough, but definitely cleverly deceptive- I fell for it ... I am going to wait it out and give them the opportunity, but may never use them again or recommend them. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice......

 

Man anymore I just go straight to the manufacturer website. I might not get the exact deal but at least I’ll know if it is actually in stock. I don’t go thru 3rd party sites anymore.
