Recently I purchased a 2016 SR5 and I have some semi-planned modifications that I would like to make. However, I have some questions from more experienced 4Runner owners before I move into the buying/installing phases.

I will be doing some 4x4 beach driving and other lite off-roading with the new truck. Maybe some towing here and there but nothing too crazy with that. I also just want to make it more atheistically pleasing to my liking.

My questions regard the more technically oriented changes I want to make:

First thing that I want to do is get new wheels in matte black. I am between the SCS Stealth 6 and Method 316’s. The SCS have a (-10) offset – I was wondering if this would cause an issue with rubbing before or after I put a 2.5” front 1.5” rear suspension/lift kit on the 4R (Stock sized A/T tires)?

When I do eventually install the suspension/lift kit (2.5” front and 1.5” rear) will stock size A/T tires be too small – looks and application wise? Also would I need a new UCA with 2.5” up front? If so should I go with 2” and would that change any of the other potential issues I mentioned above?

I appreciate any advice you guys could provide and look forward to the build!

    Welcome,

First the SCS Stealth 6's will fit perfectly, they're literally made for the 4Runner/Tacoma/FJ. You won't rub with that lift/wheel/tire combination.

Everyone's opinions are different but personally I think that 265's look a little too small with any amount of lift. You could move up to 275's, or with a bit of minor modification 285's. I'm running 285's on stock UCA's with 2" of lift all around and I only had to trim my mudflaps. On rare occasions I rub on the cab mount.

Also you can get away with stock UCA's at 2.5", but it's not ideal.
