    2016 Silver 4 Runner
Hello all! I’m new to the 4 runner club. I’ve owned a 2016 silver SR5 for a little under 2 years now. Had a few questions for anyone available. I originally wanted the dark grey color, but settled for silver. I took out a loan on my 2016 and owe 15k still. There is a 2011 dark gray 4Runner for sale at a local dealership. Not only is the color I wanted, it also has a sunroof. This one has 170k miles on it. My current 2016 only has 125k, and started with 60 when I purchased it. What do you guys think? If I trade in/sell my current one to the dealership I wouldn’t have a monthly car payment, and my insurance would decrease. Is 170k a lot for a 2011 model? What kind of mileage can I expect? The carfax look wonderful. It looks like it was used as a commercial vehicle initially and then a personal one with only two owners. There was one reported accident with no damage and no airbags deployed. Need some advice! Thank you in advance. Going to test drive/see in person today.

My $ 0.02, I would keep the 2016 with car payment.

I love 2016 body style with better clearance on the bumper, low profile rocker panels, no sunroof = more head room and no potential leaks. I like newer wheels on the 2016 as well. I even love Silver over Gray to keep me less hot in hot summer days. Silver even matches Silver wheels imo. I would not buy a older style, older year of manufactured vehicle with more miles.

Accident reported with minor damage is the biggest lie I've seen with my previous 4Runner. Though the air bags were not deployed I thought I would be totaled but it was sent for repairs and accident report said minor damage. Both my Rav4 (rear ended - replaced rear hatch, bumper and some other parts) and Venza (hit from side while parked - replaced rear door and rocker panel and painted the side) did not have any accident reported.

Good info. Thanks! Actually ended up not being as interested as I had thought. It was really beat up and after they paid off my current loan I’d still be at the same amount on monthly payments. Very happy with my 2016 SR5!
