Q: transmission lines to radiator

    It looks to me too complicated: from passenger side of frame to radiator metal line up then down to bottom to radiator. So many parts involved, metal pipes, hardware, hoses, clamps. And hoses, when hot, feels very soft. Why not oil resistant rubber hoses from frame directly to radiator? Any scientists here to explain, please?

    I wish Toyota would have put a "stand alone" tranny cooler in the 4Runner like they did our '17 Tacoma OR. As for all the lines, rubber flex joints, and bends... it's anybody's guess, Snickel Fritz' post is probably along the lines how engineers think.
